Summer 2020 has given Austria many beautiful sunny days. Hopefully you have also spent the warm season in good health! In order to be able to enjoy a comfortable and carefree "vacation at home", we have invested heavily in our own garden and a cozy and comfortable attractive outdoor area invested. Terraces, seating areas, barbecue areas and even swimming pools are experiencing a real boom. During consultations at the stone4you headquarters in Hollabrun or in the showroom on Vienna's Schottenring, we noticed that clients are increasingly choosing natural stone such as granite, limestone, travertine, quartzite and sandstone as a sustainable and natural alternative to artificial building materials. In addition to the attractive appearance, the low maintenance one of the most important arguments in favor of natural stone.

Cleaning effort is minimal

Leopold S. from Hollabrunn opted for travertine decking four years ago. During the season, it is sufficient to wash off dirt with clean water, reports the owner. In spring, he cleans the 20 square meter area with a high-pressure cleaner. Care should be taken not to aim the jet directly into the joints. After a consultation in the stone4you showroom in Hollabrunn, Mr. S. opted for Carribbean travertine. This travertine is characterized by its varied structure of delicate ochre, beige and brown tones. The Mediterranean color scheme creates a vacation atmosphere all year round and is also particularly easy to clean. In addition, the silk matt surface of the travertine is pleasant for all those who like to walk barefoot.

Above all, the flooring needed to be easy to clean. This expectation was fully met for Mr. S. and the kitchen and bathroom have now also been fitted with natural stone from stone4you.

It doesn't always have to be gray: The paving stones with a rough split surface are robust, slip-resistant and give the garden design a rustic look.

No fear of stains

It is not uncommon for porcelain stoneware to be generally preferred to natural stone because natural stone is supposedly more sensitive. As an individual natural product, natural stone naturally has different properties to a mass-produced industrial product. With the correct choice of material When planning a terrace or garden design with real stone, a classic question is always asked: "What to do about red wine stains"?

The stone experts give the all-clear

Most outdoor stains will disappear by themselves over time. Impregnation is not normally required under normal use. Red wine, for example, fades in the sun's UV light. Even grease stains around the barbecue disappear over time. For particularly stubborn grease stains, a grease stain remover specially formulated for natural stone will help. If flower troughs are placed on the floor tiles, edges can form over the course of the year. As soon as the stone underneath receives light again, these stains will also disappear. As with wood and other materials, it is generally recommended to wipe up stains on natural stone promptly and not to leave staining liquids on the stone surface overnight.

If organic deposits form, use the gentle cleaning a soft washing brush, for example from Kärcher or another supplier. You can also gently clean moss mechanically first and then remove it with a Green deposit remover remove. Gentle cleaning with a special brush is particularly important out of consideration for the joints, which can be damaged when vaporizing with a High pressure cleaner may be damaged if used incorrectly. Of course, this also applies to the joints of porcelain stoneware or other coverings. Another tip for preparing for the fall: Wooden furniture that may stain after a long period of non-use should be covered and protected from rain.
